OUR THINGS TO DO WHILE VISITING ST THOMAS
Our top choice is to explore the north side of St. Thomas and spend a day two at several beautiful beaches. Without a doubt, our favorite beach on ST, Thomas is Magens Bay. We give it 5 stars because of its shear beauty. You can always find a quiet secluded spot on the one mile long strip of white sand. The water is always crystal clear and perfect for swimming. There is plenty of shade, picnic areas, and restrooms/showers that are clean (most of the time). On the north end you can rent water toys, get a cold island drink at the bar (try at least one Bushwhacker, they are the best on the island). You can also get a pizza and other food at the restaurant and souvenir shack. It cost about $5 per person to go on the beach, but the money goes to good use, they keep the beach and facilities very clean! On the way home make sure you stop at the Udder Delight and sample one of the many adult milk shake concoctions they make.
Other favorite beaches to visit are Lindquist (local beach with great snorkeling), Sapphire and Morningstar. End the day by taking a trip to Paradise Point and enjoy the sunset. You can take a cable car to the top, but we prefer driving up the steep and winding road. Once at the top you will discover a great restaurant, some shops, and an amazing place to watch the sunset. |
